COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS

Hollis Hospitality Guidelines in Age of COVID-19

We could use a little help

 Christian hospitality is our mission.

  • Hollis is following state and local government guidelines for re-opening our space
    • Hollis is physically located in Kansas City, Kansas, and under the jurisdiction of Unified Government of Wyandotte County.
      • Effective June 8, 2020, we will be following the guidelines ofPhase 3 of the Ad Astra Plan - as stipulated by the Unified Government. This includes crowd-size guidelines.  Mass gatherings size is now no more than 45 individuals allowed.

  • All exterior spaces (hiking trails, labyrinth etc. ) are open to the public daily from dawn to dusk
    • Campus restrooms remain open for public. Please see below for use guidelines

  • All buildings are open and available for use
    • Please see below for specific information regarding building specific guidelines/operational changes

  • We are encouraging our guests to do the following:
    • Maintain social distancing guidelines
    • Wash your hands frequently, soap and paper towels are provided
    • Encourage any guest that is not feeling well to immediately leave
    • Please make the Hollis staff aware of any issues
    • Remain calm, courteous, and conscientious

As a result of COVID-19 we have lost 40% of our revenue.  We have remained open, but we could use your help to keep the trails open and maintained in the present, and our facility open and maintained in the future.   Hollis provides affordable retreat space and offers Christian hospitality to all because of generous donations from people like you.  Help us continue to welcome those in need.
Thank you for your consideration.

Are you looking for an alternative location for virtual school? One that will be conducive to learning? Free of distractions like Xbox and PS4? Somewhere with desk space and WiFi? Maybe a ceiling mounted screen and projector?

The Hollis Lodge is your place.

Ideal for virtual learning pods, home school groups and families in need of a change in location.

We welcome the stranger. It's our mission. We offer Christian hospitality to all.

A global pandemic might have limited how many strangers we can welcome at a time, but our gate remained open.  We did not close, and will continue serve our community as long as people are in need of a place to rest, retreat and reflect. That being said, we are conscience of the health concerns regarding COVID-19 and have made changes in our operating procedures to ensure the health and safety of all who visit Hollis.  If you have specific questions or concerns please reach out to us.

We will continue to "welcome the stranger" and we encourage all of our guests to treat others, as you would like to be treated.

Peace be with you.
