The Hiking Trails
Over 4.5 miles of marked trails offer unstructured opportunities to come face to face with God. Listen for the sound of bluebirds near the meadow or relax and contemplate God's work in a marshy space on an observation platform. Whether hiking the hills or in the high meadow there are many encounters with God's creation waiting to surprise you.  Click here to see the Hollis Trail Map.

Our Policies
Anyone may schedule the use of the land and buildings through the director with the understanding that they will:

  • Observe the Board policies to protect the land and preserve the environment.
  • Involve the director or a member of the staff in designing their event.

Hollis board, staff, team members, and other authorized persons may have access to the land for the purpose of public relations, maintenance, surveillance, and personal renewal.

Because Hollis offers a place apart and time apart for all its guests, we ask that you honor these expectations during your event.

  • Please include some quiet time on your schedule - time to hike our trails, watch the stream, listen to the woods.
  • Help protect our land and preserve our fragile environment by parking in designated areas, keeping vehicles on roadways, and taking with you the trash that you generate.
  • We ask that fires be started in designated areas only, and that you notify a staff member before you start a fire.
  • Please take all trash and recycling with you.
  • Hollis is a sanctuary for plants and animals as well as humans, so please observe but don't collect.

Take only photographs, your memories and your renewal.  Please leave only footprints behind.

Future Plans

If you have any questions about these plans please do not hesitate to contact the Hollis staff!

Planned Facilities
The Hollis Renewal Center is continually looking forward to how it can serve the community that it support. Two initiatives underway are Tawasee and The Retreat Center.

Tawasee
An overnight retreat facility designed primarily for youth retreats. Located just north of the Welcome Center, it will accommodate 20-30 young persons and their leaders with kitchen, bathrooms/showers, indoor and outdoor meeting spaces and a beautiful small chapel.

Tawasee

The Retreat Center
The Retreat Center will be a surprise for the whole community. The Retreat Center will be the ultimate experience for those seeking renewal and retreat. This full-service facility will be the center for the Hollis Community and will include sufficient guest accommodations for large groups. Yet, the Hollis, philosophy of simplicity and hospitality will remain.
