REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!
Hollis Crossings Summer Day Camp
June 10-14, 2013

Day Camp is a fun, active and faith-filled week during the summer for children grades K - 6.  Hollis receives both staff and program from Nebraska Lutheran Outdoor Ministries (NLOM), an accredited camp with the National Camping Association. The theme for 2013 is Faith Alive.

  • Time, Place & What to Bring: Day Camp runs Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 3 PM each day (Friday is 9 AM to 1 PM). Location is the Hollis Renewal Center in Bonner Springs, KS. Campers bring a sack lunch each day except Thursday; snacks and drinks are provided daily.
  • Individual Registration: Individuals can come to the Hollis sponsored Day Camp at the cost of $75 per camper for the first child from a family and $65 per camper after the first. Campers need to complete a Health History and Registration Form by June 1. The Day Camp week for 2013 is June 10-14.  Campers come from all over the metro area.  Please contact us for details.  Even if you are not sending a child to camp we would welcome your support in the form of scholarships or volunteer help.  You may register after June 1, but the cost is $85 per camper and no discount for additional campers per family.

  • Urban Ministries: Children who would otherwise not have a camp experience this summer are invited to attend the week listed above.  Through generous scholarships from Atonement Lutheran, Kaw Prairie Community Church, Salem Lutheran and many individuals about 20-25 children will have a camp experience this year.  If you would like to apply for a scholarship please contact the Hollis office.  Past organizations that have benefited from the scholarship program are ReStart, Catholic Charities (International Refugee Program), LUMA, Metro Lutheran Ministries, and Rosedale Development Association.

  • Congregations: Congregations have used the Day Camp model for their vacation bible school program, sometimes offering program for younger children back at their church. Please call the Hollis office if you want more information about how your church can use this exciting resource.  We still welcome weeks under this model but for the one week scheduled they will be a mixture of youth from urban ministries and youth from partnering congregations.

Reflect, Refresh. Re-create.

If you have any questions about this program or would like to create a program for Hollis please do not hesitate to contact the Hollis staff!
